Prelude: A recounting of two futures & a past is a surreal depiction of atmospheres within partnerships. Shown through glimpses of moments represented by two semi-anonymous beings, seemingly belonging to 'nowhere' and 'no time'. Created in collaboration by director Anouk Jouanne and director of photography Scarlett Gardner, the concept of the film is born from an experiment of analogue filmmaking. Working together with dancers Carly Oskar and Samara Langham, the film depicts themes of trust, care, independence and self-assurance through movement and imagery. The piece is accompanied with an original improvised track by composer Joanna Ward.
