An Other Ending by Ebun Sodipo

An Other Ending is a split video collage by Ebun Sodipo that draws on the work of Sylvia Wynter to propose a different concept and practice of world ending. Using the visual language of contemporary internet culture, a transcendent, otherworldly voice narrates an alternate history of the future and past of the globe as multiple videos flash across the black void of the screen, fluidly charing previous and ongoing world ending events that have been visited on human and non-human populations around the world. Contrast and juxtaposition are important techniques in this video: the serene resisting existential fear, humour and cuteness against horror, scenes of protest alongside scenes of dreaming.
